En mors kamp for et normalt liv

A Normal LifeEn mors kamp for et normalt liv / Ein ganz normales Leben

Documentary, Denmark 2012, 74 Min.

Katrine and her sister Cecilie are twins, although you couldn't tell: Cecilie is a pretty little blonde, while Katrine is visibly marked by leukaemia. It hasn't always been like this. You can hardly tell them apart in old video recordings. But Katrine's unburdened childhood only lasted until she was two. Since then she has been repeatedly subjected to chemotherapy, but to no avail. Now her hopes are set on stem cell therapy as a possible cure. The family of five spends half a year in hopeful anguish, half at home and half in hospital. The film gives an account of their desperate, brave attempt at living a normal life in spite of Katrine's sickness, and letting her have as much part of it as possible.
