From freezing Estonia to glamorous Paris: Anne has two grown-up children and has been divorced for twelve years. When her mother dies after several years in her care, Anne takes a job in an old people's home: Full of optimism she travels to Paris, the "city of her dreams", to look after an old Estonian immigrant there. But Frida everything but welcomes Anne there. After a failed suicide attempt, the dictatorial mistress now lets out her frustrations on the timid nurse - only very gradually does the stubborn old lady soften up enough to impart anything personal. Anne thus learns of her love to Stéphane, the proprietor of a café, as well as of the previous affairs of this unconventional woman ... In this touching intimate play, Jeanne Moreau embodies a sometime coquette, sometime monstrous old woman who has lost none of her allure. A highly convincing Laine Magi co-stars at her side, developing from an inconspicuous wallflower to an antagonist at eye level.
